The sun shone for the Skene Business Centres' Summer Client Garden Party. The event brought together young and old, bosses and babies, and of course it brought together our wonderful clients who run a fascinating host of businesses from our quality serviced offices situated in Rubislaw Den North, Queens Gardens and Rosemount.
With a background in HR, Catherine Aberdein began her counselling journey in 2017. In 2020, regardless of the challenges of Covid, she got her own business up and running. While her online and telephone counselling could be conducted from home, Catherine wanted a separate space, the right space, to carry out her bespoke face-to-face work.
Andy Gordon has run Aberdeen Massage Therapies from Skene Business Centres since 2019, specialising in bespoke treatments, fixing current and historic muscle issues. He’s worked with footballer, golfers and even pop stars.
Covid changed many people’s professional lives. Arlene Scott, a career hairdresser, suddenly experienced anxious clients frightened about entering a busy salon. She decided to look for her own private rental space in smart but relaxed modern surroundings, moving into Skene Business Centres Queen’s Gardens in April 2021.
Kate Rochford was Skene Business Centres’ very first client to move into 2 Queen's Gardens back in November 2018. Today she runs Aberdeen Psychotherapy from 7 Queen’s Gardens, currently working out of a spacious 156sq ft. office that she’s converted into an intimate welcoming space for clients and visitors alike.
Marinela Deca moved to Scotland ready to set up a business building on her skincare expertise gained working in Albania, Italy and Turkey. She specialises in microdermabrasion, derma planing, chemical peels, facials, micro-needling and laser hair removal.
Selma Yanik specialises in providing psychotherapy for children and teens so her office rental requirements are particular when welcoming youngsters dealing with trauma, anxiety and other issues. Selma was initially subletting and sharing office space in Aberdeen, but as her client roster grew and her landlord changed direction she faced three weeks to find somewhere new.
Susan Evans at Thank Evans Childcare Agency has run her childcare business since 2000, operating out of Skene Business Centres' Rubislaw Den North property since 2013. Thank Evans currently offers childcare at home, support childcare and emergency childcare as well as nursery support.
Jade Hammond received the keys to her rental therapy room in 2 Queen’s Gardens, Aberdeen from Skene Business Centres in February 2020, ready to kickstart her business in a new, smart address. Seemingly the timing couldn’t have been worse with lockdown shutting things down before Jade even got started, but Jade’s Skene Business Centre journey has surprising twists along the way.
